Definition of a Cross: a structure or symbol that has two intersecting lines or pieces.
Stars and crosses do not have to be symmetrical shapes and structures, neither do they have to have right angles.
The basic difference between the two : crosses are usually represented by an open shape with two lines meeting whilst stars are represented by a closed shape and can have many intersecting lines.
